Help with Supper

This came to me via blog reader Allan and it’s just too brilliant to keep to myself.

It’s a website called My Fridge Food that tells you what you can cook with the ingredients you have on hand.  It assumes you have staples such as salt and flour.  You check off the ingredients you have, say, eggs, cheese and butter and – voila – a list of recipes featuring those ingredients. Pick one that appeals to you and now you’re cookin’.

The site’s authors say the recipes come from ordinary people who have the same dilemma many of us face: what the heck to make for dinner?  Some days it’s a breeze to come up with something and other days, it’s a chore.  I’m thankful to Allan for sharing the site with me.  Derek will be happy to know that the first recipe I discovered was for Bacon Tacos.  You actually make the shell out of bacon.  The man would rather everything was made out of bacon – even chicken!

  1. Like it! Came home last night and didn’t know what was for dinner–salmon salad, garden salad and toast–this might have helped. Time is an issue right now, but retiring in 4 weeks, so meals should be better after that. And again–time–didn’t get a good look this am, but will soon—

  2. Thank you Lisa and Allan. This will be very helpful to me……you learn a lot when you read Lisa’s blog! Hope you have a Happy Canada Day and relaxing long weekend!
