My Book-to-be

It’s time for an update on my upcoming tome about the summer I spent working at a nudist resort.  Its title is The Naked Truth and it will be an ebook for Kindle (Amazon) and Kobo.  I want to put it through iBooks but I don’t have a Mac – a requirement to upload an ebook.  If I can find a good samaritan with a Mac, I’ll have access to the seller who owns the biggest market share.

Having witnessed the disasters people put out when they don’t hire a professional editor, I found a wonderful freelancer who says she will have it finished by the end of this month.  Yes, it costs money but good work always does.  Even if TNT only sells five copies I will still feel it was worth investing in a real editor.  I want to be proud of the finished product.

When I ordered an ISBN number (each book has its own number for record-keeping) I had to pick a publication date so I went with September first.  Turns out that just might work.  My cover artist, aka brother-in-law, says that’s realistic for him. It will be priced at $2.99 and regardless of how much I love you, only my Mom gets a free copy!  I figure that with all of the cash we waste, it’s worth less than the cost of a latte to give my story a whirl.  It’s not asking much.  If you don’t enjoy it – highly unlikely, I hope – you haven’t made much of an investment. And if you aren’t interested, that’s cool too.  After all, it’s your three bucks! Before it’s out I will offer a preview chapter (or two) on this page so you know what you’re in for.  Stay tuned.

  1. My Mom grew up in Freelton so we always smirked when we talk about that town ~ known for having the “nudist” camp lol. My sisters and I used to spend summers visiting our friends on a farm there and it has lots of great memories for me, but years before the camp. Good luck with your book Lisa, I just may have to order it. I’m sorry I don’t have a Mac computer or I certainly would have helped out.
