Throwback Thursday – Book Launch Party

My first book was published in 2003. I really have no ties to Celebrity Tantrums anymore, and if you want to read it, I have a few dozen copies in my basement that I’d be happy to give away! I’m proud of the writing but my experience with this publisher wasn’t great. However, the book launch party was fantastic.

Our Sales Manager at 680 News was a big fan of our morning show, then anchored by Paul Cook and me. So when it came time to put the book out in May of 2003, Derek Berghuis offered to host a party at The Grand Hotel. It was beautiful! Munchies, books sales, autographs, and a guest list including my favourite people and members of Toronto media. It resulted in a couple of newspaper interviews, and the next morning I appeared on City’s Breakfast Television.

Erin and I arm in arm looking about 13 years younger!

This was the calm before a nice little storm of flying to Montreal for a flurry of interviews and doing other Q-and-As by phone all over the world to promote the book. And my wonderful pal Erin Davis was there to emcee and offer unwavering support. It was exciting!

Erin has been a support to me in more ways than I can count. You probably know, but if you don’t, she’s still creating her journal, on the page and via audio, and preparing for some exciting adventures in so-called retirement! She’s a gem. Read her journal HERE. And let me know if you want a book! (Seriously)

  1. I’d love to read your book. I’ll happily send you the postage. Your sepsis story was really well told so I’m sure I’d enjoy one about celebrities. I could e-transfer the postage to your bank.

    1. Not necessarly Linda. Email your address to me and I’ll send you one. It’s my way of saying thank you for visiting and commenting. You and Jean – and to Kristina too, even though she’s family! 😀

  2. Hi Lisa
I’d love a copy too. I’ve read your nudist camp adventure and enjoyed it. I read yours and Erin’s blogs regularly and love them.

  3. You won’t believe this, but I was just thinking yesterday about what a nice party that was! Thanks for the memories- but most of all, for the gifts that your friendship has brought me. ❤️
