My favourite comic strip of all time, Cathy, is ending its 35 year run in October.
Cathy is the line-drawing version of Rhoda; a modern woman who longs to be a size 6, has a bumpy dating life and can’t cook or resist a good coffee. Her signature phrase – aaaak! – became part of the female vernacular. Cathy’s creator, Cathy Guisewite, wants to spend more time with her family. Can’t blame her. As Cathy would say, at least she has a family!
