The Piano Man Builds The Boss a Bike

How cool is this? I’ve followed Billy Joel’s motorcycle obsession over the years.  He had dozens of bikes and auctioned off many of them only to collect again and then open a custom bike shop on Long Island.

Now Billy says he and Bruce Springsteen got together over the winter and Bruce commissioned a bike from Billy’s shop.  It’s based on Billy’s own Sacred Cow bobber.  Billy tells Cycle World that Bruce is hard core.  He took Billy’s bike out for a spin in the middle of winter and then placed the order. It’s a custom Kawasaki with a black frame and a metal-flake gold tank.

Billy Joel has been collecting bikes since the mid-1970s. He was hit by a car while on a bike in 1982 and suffered a hand injury – pretty devastating for a piano man, but he recovered and got right back on the horse, so to speak.
