Book Two, Now Out in the World

Cover is green and yellow with a budding tree in the middle

Last Sunday was release day for my second book in the Felicity and Mitzi series: Threads of Love.

I chose Sunday because it was the 85th anniversary of my mom’s birth. An easy date for me to remember.

I’m grateful that there have been many pre-orders. Also, I’ve gotten wonderful feedback about the first book, Pieces of Us. The most critical review I’ve seen of it so far still gave it four stars out of five. I have no say or control over how people react to it. I’m fortunate that I can detach myself from it. I watch the goings-on like a scientist looking into a Petri dish.

Where to Find It

Paperback: In this website’s store, Amazon, or by ordering through a bookstore. Lake House Books in Port Stanley stocks Book One and will have Book Two as soon as it comes in. Please support your local, independent bookstore. Authors simply can’t ignore Amazon but that doesn’t mean you have to support it if you don’t want to.

e-book: Kobo (Indigo or directly via Kobo), and Kindle.

Library: You must ask the library to order it. There are so many books! While the Stephen Kings and other reliable, million-sellers get brought in automatically, we smaller sellers need advocates. The upside is reading it for free! The Port Stanley (Elgin) Library has #1 and will have #2 soon.

What’s Next?

Book Three, the last book in this series, will come out in October. Details still to come.

And now I’m working on a story that is strange and wonderful but might never see the light of day! Who knows? I always think that way. This one is definitely unusual. But I’m all in so it’s going to get written, even if it’s just for my own amusement. I write for the love of it. The rest is all a delightful bonus.

  1. Inquiry? Releasing all three books in such a short period of time, isn’t that unusual? I’m sure there is a reason.

    1. It is unusual. Especially if it’s going to be an ongoing series, they might come out annually or so. But I had #3 almost done by the time #1 came out and thought, why not? I talked to a friend in publishing and she said it’s not the most popular type of schedule but it’s sometimes done. So, there you go.

      1. Hi Lisa,

Well that makes sense. There also might be a tendency to keep refining it if it sits to long waiting for release whereas once it’s out the door it’s done.

Annually was my first thought and the reason for my inquiry, but if its done and works, go for it.

  2. I couldn’t put down Book 1—its unpredictability made it such a compelling read. I’m eagerly looking forward to Book 2, and eventually Book 3! Please continue writing—your work has definitely gained a loyal reader in me.
