Excuses, Excuses

A 56-year old former Mayor in Australia had sex with a 12-year-old who was being pimped out by her Mother.

He won’t do a day in jail.  The judge decided the girl looked 15 or 16 (the legal age there is 18) and that the man’s Parkinson’s drugs were causing “hyper-sexuality”.  So the judge gave him a pass.

Let’s break this down, shall we?  Two of our family members have Parkinson’s.  I’m quite familiar with the disease but just to be sure, I looked up some studies and the results were pretty similar.  One conducted by the Mayo clinic 2 years ago found that out of 267 patients on Dopamine, 7 were found to have either a compulsion to gamble or hyper-sexuality.  So it’s not that common.  And just because a person is feeling randy, does that automatically entitle them to have sex with a child?

The judge apparently thinks so.

The former Mayor said the drug made him start calling up call girls and looking at child porn – but he swears he thought the girl was 18.

There isn’t enough time to list all of the words that come to mind over this ruling.  Misogynistic.  Archaic.  Disgusting.  The girl’s Mother is in jail so that’s something.   And I do hope the poor, poor man’s doctor has found a substitute medication for him because he apparently has no ability to think or control himself while taking the one he was on.  Ridiculous.

  1. My husband had Parkinson. I am quite familiar with the disease. It is an insult to people with Parkinson. Yes some may have hyper-sexuality but that is no excuse for sex with a 12 year old.
