Peanut Butter Protein Balls

Our Free-FM colleague Pasqualina brought in some peanut butter balls the other day.  I thought I’d died and gone to protein heaven.  So I asked for the recipe. It’s from the Oxygen Network. I use about 1/2 the honey it calls for (as does she) and I don’t add the chocolate chips at all and they’re delicious.  The trouble is with trying to eat just one.

1/3 cup natural peanut butter.  1/4 cup honey. 1 scoop chocolate whey protein powder (from any health food store). 3 tbsp ground flaxseed (I use a ground flaxseed/chia seed combo). 3 tbsp dark chocolate chips.

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. They should be the consistency of Play-Doh.  Roll into 14 small balls. Refrigerate overnight.  Enjoy!

Each ball has 84 calories, a gram of dietary fibre, 5 grams of fat and 4 grams of protein.  Yum.
