We’re on Mars

We, as in the human-designed Rover, Curiosity. I won’t go back over the details of this tricky mission designed by NASA scientists but even just vicariously experiencing the landing was a chill and a thrill. It was a kick to watch some of the greatest scientific minds in the US turn into little happy kids as they erupted with joy over the successful touch-down.

This is it, people. This is all we’ve got! Exploration of the scientific world brings us the only tangible and irrefutable evidence we can gather about our existence. It’s not about which country gets there first. Three cheers for the US for forging ahead in space exploration because we’ll all benefit from it. I can’t wait to learn what the Curiosity Rover will reveal about the red planet in the coming weeks.
