We Remember Movember

The Swollen Glands, the Movember team that my Free-FM cohosts are part of, raised more than $4200 for men’s health this month.  And today, Blair and Derek are waking up without scratchy, uncomfortable lip caterpillars.

We (and I say we because I’m a Mosista!) held a BBQ, we took donations, we recruited Mos and we talked it up on air all month.  Even our cat Spice got in on the action.

My buff and white cat with a black moustache put on digitally

Blair and I posed at the BBQ after taking a moustache ride together. That’s a large, wooden teeter-totter, in case you don’t know.

Blair looks shocked and I strike a pose with a black, stick-on moustache on my lip

On Friday morning for the big finale, we aired two important things: audio from Derek’s prostate exam the night before. All clear! And all done very fast.  And Blair’s second annual Chestache, a waxing that leaves a moustache in his rather thick chest hair. As you can see, Derek was pretty relaxed before his exam.

Derek sits on an exam table wearing a blue sweater and a white sheet covering him from his waist to his knees. He is smiling.

And this is a condensed look at Blair’s waxing. There was a bit of yelling but not as much as last year! And the result was more attractive as well…considering!

Three photos - on top, a long shot of the radio studio with the console and mics in the background and in the foreground, Blair lying on a portable table. #2: Blair has a stick in his mouth and his chest is half done. #3: Blair stands triumphant with his chestache complete and two used wax strips in his hands!I’m proud of my boys for doing what’s necessary to promote men’s health!
