Throwback Thursday – Hiney Winery

Only Londoners of a certain vintage will remember the Hiney Winery! It was a fictional locale, part of CKSL morning show lore, located in lovely Arva, just outside London. Rich and Norm referred to it regularly as if it was a real place.

Derek and I were in Arva a couple of weekends ago.  Having both worked at CKSL during that era, naturally the Hiney Winery came to mind.

Above, I’m wearing a Hiney Winery T-shirt (which I still have!) at some event, back in the day.

Arva has grown and London city limits have almost expanded to meet it.  It has several well-known businesses and today, the Hiney Winery wouldn’t be able to hide. I’ve always wondered how many people actually looked for the Hiney Winery?  And how many claimed to have found it!?
