Throwback Thursday – Family Tiles

Seattle’s Pike Place Market. May 2017.

black tiles on white wall, under PUBLIC RESTROOMS are depictions of a woman, a female child and a man appearing to run while holding a baby outstretched ahead of him

On a trip to Seattle, Erin Davis and I couldn’t help but notice the humour in the Pike Place Market bathroom sign. What says “this way” better than a parent running with a wet baby? It must have taken a lot of effort to design and tile that wall. We certainly appreciated it!

  1. Ah yes! As soon as I saw this I remembered that day. That stay. That hotel that wanted stupid money for internet but was memorable nonetheless. Thanks for this! xo E
