If You Can Read This Post

Closeup of Corey Hart wearing sunglasses. And it's night.

I wear my sunglasses at night and I’m still not up to being on the computer!

In case you missed it, I had lens replacement surgery on Wednesday.

It’s very common! But you just don’t know how well recovery will go until you get there. So I wrote this post just in case I wasn’t back to my old surfing, writing self within a couple of days. If this is live online, it’s no cause for worry, it just means I’m still healing.

Guessing What I’ll Be Doing

I’m probably milling about slowly, wearing sunglasses (even while I sleep) and possibly oven mitts on my hands. I have a terrible habit of rubbing my eyes and that’s a big no-no after eye surgery. You don’t have to be a doctor to know that.

It’s been great to hear from so many people who have already had this procedure done. Every one of them is happy with the results. The mere thought of it puts some people off. Well I say, that’s what drugs are for, and I’m not ashamed to take them! I’m the gal who asks to be knocked out for a colonoscopy and drugged up for an MRI.

When I asked for medication to ease anxiety before flying, my doctor would only give me two pills at a time. My addictive personality is well known. Fortunately, I can fly without taking anything now. But I digress.

‘Til Tuesday, Then

Until my next post on Tuesday, I suppose I’ll just be reading a book…no wait. Watching TV, er no. Working on my third novel…not that either. Lying down and listening to podcasts, audiobooks, and music with a small silver bell at my side to summon my coffee and snack waiter.

I wish! Have a wonderful weekend.

  1. Here is an opportunity to come over to the dark side. You can experiment with a screen reader on your phone so you can navigate without looking by listening. Get well soon.

    1. Well, I didn’t prepare myself properly, Allan. The only thing I could use on my phone is the answer function for a phone call because It comes up in the upper right corner. I couldn’t (and still really can’t) see anything properly. I would definitely recommend that people practise using voice functions before they need them!

    1. Thanks, Dan. I know you’re been through this and that is one of the reasons why I went into it with zero anxiety. Now, it’s Saturday morning and I’m able to carefully peck out a message or two.
