Toes are Out and About

Some people don’t like feet.  To me, that’s like saying you don’t like skin or eyes.  But I understand it because so many people don’t bother to take care of their feet and they can be damn gross.  Care or not, everyone seems to put them on display as soon as the warm weather arrives.

At a meeting last week I was transfixed by the toes of a woman sitting ahead of me.  She had her legs stretched out and her toes were out there in their full glory from her cheap flip-flops. (Don’t get me started on how much I hate flip flops!)  Her little piggies were dis-gus-ting.  Not only were they cut way too short and all sunken into her toe meat, they were filthy.  The woman was otherwise quite presentable.  It just confused and fascinated me.  I just think that if you’re going to put your toes out for public consumption you should, at the very least, clean them up.  But all summer long we’re going to be exposed to scaly heels and ragged toenails.  As a side note, I think I’ve invented a new diet. Call me when you feel like snacking and I’ll describe that woman’s toes for you.  It’s certainly working on my appetite right now.

This thing has been going around Facebook. You’re supposed to say which “nationality” of toes you have.  Mine are Egyptian; pleasing to the eye but I’m guessing not as good at gripping the ground as Greek, with that crazy-big second toe!    So, which toes do you have?  And for goodness sake, I hope they’re clean!

Egyptian: Progressively smaller. Roman: second and third toes as long as the big toe. Greek: Second toe longer than the big toe.

  1. Greek and the tall second toe and third toe on each foot are webbed. No, I am not a good swimmer but I do enjoy that thick yogurt lol. Hope you have a good day Lisa. How is your bike? Haven’t heard much about her this year yet.

    1. Brenda – LOL! Not a lot of biking to talk about yet, really. I can no longer ride to work because of leaving at 3:45 am. I find it too risky with so many raccoons and skunks out and me not quite awake yet at that time. You need to really be alert and aware. I’ve been out for little spins here and there. We are going on a week-long trip through Arizona in a week and a half and soon you’ll be saying you’re sick of hearing so much about riding! 🙂

  2. I’m GREEK! And my very talented toes can pick stuff up, hold a pen, perform numerous feet feats! Thanks for the smile – okay and a small wave of nausea – with today’s blog. Love from Toron-toe – xo
