The Toronto Whirlwind and CFRB

I’m a lucky gal.  CFRB 1010 in Toronto offered me a half-hour on air with Ted Woloshyn on Saturday to talk about my ebook so I jumped on it like a chipmunk on a nut in winter.

Our generous friends Erin and Rob suggested we stay with them at their lakeside home Friday night so we enjoyed a wonderful evening and morning with them before driving into the city Saturday morning and arriving at my old workplace in plenty of time for my 11:30 slot.  We even parked on “the ramp” where employees with clout have reserved parking during the week.  Free parking in Toronto?  You’ve got to know the right people!

Granted, a baby born when I left the MIX (now Virgin) and CFRB would be almost legal age to drink booze but it’s still a bit stunning to see all of the changes. The “open” doorway that used to lead to a walkway to Yonge and St. Clair is now all closed in.  The hallways of the radio stations are narrower although everything is pretty much where I remember it. They’ve added another radio station since I walked those hallowed hallways so they had to find room for it somewhere.

I was on CFRB twice yesterday.  Larry Fedoruk, who interviewed me on 610 CKTB earlier in the week.  Larry also hosts weekend mornings on ‘RB and he replayed that interview around 6 am.  I was so thrilled to see Larry there in the flesh and to get a chance to visit before going into the studio with Ted.  It warmed my heart to see Ted again and to be greeted with affection.

This is the audio of our time on air, which flew by so quickly.  I could have talked to him all day. And the music you hear? It’s played live in studio by Bill King, someone else I hadn’t seen in a long time.
