…They say you shouldn’t take business dealings personally. It’s been at least a decade since a client has tried to skip out on my bill. But I also know it often goes on. Because some companies put entrepreneurs, especially those in creative professions, at the bottom of the payables pile.
…The memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be. The hair is peppered with grey. Some body parts make popping noises when you bend or stretch. But other than that, getting older is something that happens without you. You only really notice it when it’s mentioned by someone else.
…Eighteen years ago today, terrorist attacks that stole our confidence and launched a thousand conspiracy theories rocked the world.

Everybody makes mistakes. I’ve certainly made my share, and some still haunt me to this day. Why oh why did I think David Duchovny’s surname was pronounced do-SHOVE-knee?
…My latest column for Our London considers the cynic and why I think it’s a bad thing to become. …
Last week, nearly nine years after I left 680 News, someone contacted me to tell me that they still missed hearing me on the air with Paul Cook. If I’m honest, I still miss hearing me on the air with Paul Cook! Â …
The other night before I went to bed, I quickly flipped through my news apps to see what was in the headlines. Show prep never stops, and what’s news tonight from these legitimate news sources will form the backbone of my show in the morning. …

My first book was published in 2003. I really have no ties to Celebrity Tantrums anymore, and if you want to read it, I have a few dozen copies in my basement that I’d be happy to give away! I’m proud of the writing but my experience with this publisher wasn’t great. However, the book launch party was fantastic. …
Oh, Mike Holmes. Now he’s a mainstay on the television landscape but during my time on 680 News he was an up-and-coming phenomenon. …
Where were you 14 years ago tomorrow? I was on the air. …
Before I left 680 News, legendary political reporter John Stall and I had a discussion about cynicism.  He made a very good point.  Being a cynic is a barrier to growth.  Even when it comes to the Mayor of this city where unemployment and closing companies are issues and he says what we need is a gondola ride over the Thames. At least I thought about it before I dismissed it as dumb!  So I randt. …
The only daughter of our very dear friends got married on the weekend. This event has been long in the planning and heavy in anticipation. And it was a very special, wonderful day. Â Â …
I remember when this letter arrived at 680 News. Â I was speechless. Â I had announced on air that I was leaving and although the few times when I had met the Premier over the years he had always claimed to listen to us, this letter made it real. Â …
More than a decade ago my 680 News colleague’s little brother David died from a brain tumour at the age of 19.
