Coming soon…. …
I’ve signed the contract with Hibbert & Stiles . The manuscript has been edited. My fifth book is in production to come out as both a book-book and an eBook. Be Our Guest (working title) will be spineless, not in tone but it physical nature. It’s a quick read meant for publicists, talent managers and anyone at all who has an interest in radio and in getting a guest spot on the air. …
I first met Dick Williams when I was working at 1039 FM here in London. His son, DJ, was the station’s Sales Manager and Dad had dropped by before joining him for lunch. Dick is a broadcasting legend in this city and he’s finally releasing to the public the stories that have entertained his friends for so many years. …
I’m often asked how it’s going with writing, and what people really want to know is, how are book sales? …
A flurry of activity has been going on behind the scenes regarding the publication of my next Ebook. …
Venus Rising: The humble beginnings of self-made women, is now on sale as a Kindle eBook. Â …
I’ve been warned that it’s premature to release this, really, without a publication date for the actual book. It won’t be very long now, as it’s in the final editing phase.  I’m just so proud of it, I can’t wait to show you how it looks! …
When I published The Naked Truth last October I said it would be an ebook only. …
A little while ago I posted a plea for radio stories and I got some very good ones! I’m starting to work on an ebook collection of my own experiences in this wacky world of broadcasting and including some of those I’ve been sent.  They range from in-studio shenanigans to off-air tomfoolery to the ever-popular dealings with over-bearing or delusional listeners. I’ll share one of the rarer ones with you today, written and experienced by Mr. Derek Botten. …
By far, the best thing we did this year was to adopt Spice.  After so much hemming and hawing and hesitation we acted at the right time and got the right cat. We got our cat and he’s a little love of our lives. …
Hundreds of broadcasters have said they’ll write books about behind-the-scenes of radio. Very few have followed through.  I think it’s time. …
An audio version of my ebook The Naked Truth is now available. Â I hadn’t planned on recording one but several people asked me to and it was kind of fun! …
The Beat Magazine, aka publisher Richard Young, reviewed my book and gave it 4 out of 4 stars. I can hardly say that without shaking my head in a mix of disbelief and gratitude.  Without his permission (!) I’m adding the link to the review here and reprinting the text of it here. …
A couple of years ago I wrote in this space about not understanding Linked In.  It’s a networking website where people link to other people for professional reasons.  They could be in a similar line of work, the same city, or simply want to hook into the other person’s contacts in hopes of expanding their contacts. I used to be skeptical of the website until a young, smart guy who’s dating a young, smart colleague of mine said that turning down an invitation to “link” is like turning your back to someone who says Hi at a networking function. …
A fair bit of anxiety has gone into planning to release my little ebook, The Naked Truth. Yesterday I posted the first chapter here and on Facebook and Twitter, just as a preview. One never really knows what will come of such a thing. It isn’t just my writing, it’s a piece of my life I’m putting out there. …
I hope you’re prepared to sit a spell and enjoy a longer than usual blog post today! As promised, here’s a chapter from my forthcoming ebook, The Naked Truth, out September 1st. I flip-flopped on what I should post and finally decided to start at the beginning. This is chapter 1. …
When you’re about to self-publish, as I am, you’re also about to self-promote, self-represent and self-distribute your work. So I’ve been reading up on ways to improve the chances of my little book getting seen – keep in mind this is something I already know a thing or two about.  So I’m only going after tips from the masters. …
