Last Thursday and Friday our regular Free-FM morning show was not on the air in preparation for the launch of our new show today.
The BIG Show, with Botten, Blair and Brandt is making its debut today and everything about it is big! Blair is back from a 7 week hiatus with another broadcasting company in the city and we’re thrilled to have him. He’s one of us. (Like it or not, Blair!) He and I were colleagues at Corus, then he left to work at an American radio station in Bangalore, India for 9 months. In the meantime, I left Corus for Free and when Blair came back to London, he was with us part-time doing weekends and fill-in shifts. But there was nothing permanent for him with us. Until now.
The BIG Show is big because it has 3 co-hosts. I welcome my new role as newscaster and on-air foil. Derek “Rock” Botten brings the rock sensibility, the off-the-wall humour and the direct relationship to our target audience. Blair is a sports guy who’s also smart and funny. Whatever I bring, I’m bringin’ it. Here’s a bit of what our first BIG show photo shoot brought.

Congratulations. There’s nothing so freeing as working in a fun, happy atmosphere and by the looks (and sounds) of things, you have a winning combination. LOVE that motto! I think we’re off to a good start. But as you know this is a marathon, not a sprint! We’re in it for the long haul.
