Bike Show Burnout

Well here we are again – another February, another World of Motorcycles Expo. It consumes us. It eats my husband alive. And you never know if it’s worth it until it’s all over!

This year’s show goes Friday (Feb 8) through Sunday (Feb 10) at the Western Fair District Agriplex.  Last year there were also shows in Hamilton and Kitchener and I have no idea how we, especially Derek, survived. So we’ve taken it back to the core show only and there will be some really cool things to see.

For starters, it’s all about bikes.  There are hundreds of them. Pro and amateur customizers put their babies in competition categories to compete for trophies and other prizes. Show-goers vote for Molson People’s Choice and that’s a huge pat on the back for the winner, too. This year we have stunt rider Trevor Bodogh performing as well as training demos and other fun things to watch. There’s a ton of stuff going on. I did about 1/3 of the press releases I normally put out and we are getting about twice the media coverage – what does that tell you!?

Work smart, not hard.

So as of Thursday I am off the radio through the weekend so I can do whatever needs doing at the Western Fair District Agriplex. I used to be there for every moment the show was on but I no longer feel that need. We have a terrific staff and in most cases I’m better off standing back and letting them do their thing, filling in when I’m needed and being an extra set of hands. Oh and I’ll be bike shopping, too. I may sell my Honda and get into another brand for several reasons, most notably that the wonderful guys who sold me my bike have gone out of business. Stay tuned and listen for the roar of the pipes!
